Oh, so many choices here!
One friend has, through her own persistent clarity, shown me how many of my “rational” beliefs come down to fear.
By giving some very difficult feedback with great gentleness, a friend taught me to find a whole new depth of compassion for myself.
A friend showed that other people see me the way I see my students and friends: as someone bursting with potential, with just a few hurdles standing between me and my wildest dreams.
A friend showed me my own strength this year.
But perhaps most remarkable of all is that this year, experiences with my friends have shown me what it is to love someone and see their flaws, without inserting a but between those experiences. Good lesson.
What have you learned from your friends this year?
